The Triconex 3721 product family includes a range of modules. Triconex 3721 chassis

• The main box houses the main processor, memory backup battery, communication module, and I/O module.

Expansion chassis for other I/O modules not more than 100 feet (30 meters) from the main chassis. In restricted applications, operations up to 1,000 feet (300 m) are supported.

RXM chassis for I/O modules not more than 7.5 miles (12 km) from the main chassis.

• Mechanical Keying Each slot in Tricon is mechanically keyed to a specific type of module. This prevents the module from being installed in an inappropriate slot.

Optical Fiber Remote Expansion Module (RXM)

For operation of the extension chassis at a distance of 7.5 miles (12 km) from the main chassis, with special immunity to electrostatic and electromagnetic interference.

Triconex 3721 I/O Module • Digital input module

Receive discrete signals at these nominal voltages: 115 VAC/VDC, 48 VAC/VDC, and 24 VAC/VDC. All voltages are available in the TMR module. Non-tmr modules offer only 24 VDC and 48 VDC voltages. Speed input and accumulation modules are also available.

Monitor digital output modules that produce discrete output signals at these nominal voltages, with diagnostic ranges for field circuits and load devices: 115 VAC, 120 VDC, 48 VDC, and 24 VDC.

• Analog input modules receive the following types of analog signals: 0-5 VDC, -5 to +5 VDC, 0-10 VDC, and type J, K, T, and E thermocouples. There are isolated and DCcoupled versions.

• The analog output module drives eight 4-20 mA analog output signals. The high-current AO module consists of 6 points from 4-20 mA and 2 points from 20-320 mA.
