Unlike traditional resistive touch technologies, projective capacitive touch does not rely on physical contact to detect touch events, but instead identifies touch by measuring changes in the capacitance of the screen surface.
Working principle
Projective capacitive touch screens consist of two or more layers of conductive material, which are usually covered with an insulating glass or plastic substrate. These conductive layers are designed in the form of a grid or matrix, and each layer is assigned a voltage. When the user’s finger or other conductive object approaches the surface of the screen, it changes the electric field distribution on the screen, forming a temporary capacitor.
