By using two CI854A communication interface modules, master station redundancy is supported in PROFIBUS-DP communication. Station redundancy can be combined with CPU redundancy and CEXbus redundancy (BC810). The modules are mounted on DIN rails and connect directly to the S800 I/O system and other /O systems, including all PROFIBUS DP/DP-V1 and FOUNDATION Fieldbus proficiency systems. PROFIBUS DP must terminate at the two outermost nodes. This is usually done by using a connector with a built-in terminal. In order to ensure proper working termination, the connector must be inserted and powered.
